We are the comeback kings! Tonight may not have been a true comeback, but it was an impressive game. We played the Athens Drive Jaguars. It was our first Tri-9 conference game and we came out with the dub! We got on the board first with a field goal then a touchdown with a failed two point conversion. Right before the half Athens scored a touchdown, so we went in at the break with a two point lead.
In the second half, we scored then they scored; it was a back and fourth scoring. With less than three minutes left Athens scored to take the lead 20-16. Needless to say, we were nervous. The fans were going nuts. With about a minute left our quarterback couldn't find an open receiver, so he decided to run for the first time this season. It will most likely be one of his last; he made it out of bounds to stop the clock, but it took him a while to get up. We went one play without a qb and gained a few yards. Jordan came back in and we scored a touchdown. We were winning, but with less than a minute on the clock it was still possible for Athens to tie it up or even win. The student section was making the most noise they had all night and when the clock hit 0:00, we were so relieved. We rallied to win 23-20.
After the games, we always go to a local wing joint. The service isn't to great, but the environment is fun. The cops have been called on us the past two weeks for noise complaints from the apartments above the restaurant. If you rent an apartment above a sports bar you should be expecting a little noise, so don't have a fit about it. Overall it was a fun night.
The theme for the week was black out!
