Are you blinded yet? Football games always go along with crazy themes and this week happened to be one that I pushed really hard for. NEON RAVE! I have been wanting to do this one since I got these ridiculously neon Nike running shorts. The point of this theme is that if the whole student section wears neon, we will glow. If it hadn't been such an icky cold day then more people would have participated. My friends and I went all out though.
I wore my brothers neon lacrosse penny with a neon sports bra underneath. I wore my neon running shorts with some hot pink tights and my 80's style black and hot pink Reebok Freestyle Hi shoes. There was no way a car was going to hit me that night! Augusta, next to me, wore a similar outfit to mine. Sydney didn't have any neon when she arrived at my house, but a quick trip to Goodwill fixed that when she found a neon green blazer! Carly had a neon t-shirt on and some ridiculous socks. Kennedy's outfit may have been the most controversial; she found my old cheerleading uniform in my closet. It fit the theme perfectly! It was glittery and neon, but the cheerleader were mad because she was a "wannabe." Psh, Sloan set them straight for us.
This game was very important because it was a memorial game for Coach D. Coach D was an athletic director and coach at a middle school and Apex High School, who we were playing. We all wore yellow ribbons in his honor and had a service for him before the game. It was very touching and meaningful. It also showed that you can come together with rival schools. It was perfect timing considering all the vandalism Cary High School had done that week.
We won the game and took over the number one spot in our conference since Cary lost to Fuguay.
