Light the Night Walk (10.15.11)

I got the amazing chance to volunteer at the Light the Night Walk, which is put on by the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. This is a foundation that is close to my heart since my brother is a Lymphoma survivor. I worked the registration table, so my job was to give out wristbands and sign people in. There were some amazing people who came through. One of the first people that came up was an older man. The first question we asked people was "are you a cancer survivor?" This gentleman answered with "I hope so." He had just finished his last treatment the week before and he was already out doing this walk, AMAZING. A little later on, a family came up. There was a young girl about 8 years old. The first thing she said to me was "Guess What?" When I asked, "What?" She said that she had been cancer free for over 4 years. I was amazed and she was adorable.

Each participant that was either a survivor or raised over $100 got an illuminated balloon to walk with. When the walk started all of the balloons looked amazing!!
