Let's Get Back on Track (9.30.11-10.9.11)

9.30.11
On the 30th we had a football game, but it wasn't just any football game it was a pink out against Middle Creek. We have never beaten Middle Creek in the history of our high school, and last year they were our one glitch on our regular season record. The pink out is something every school does in honor of breast cancer awareness month. We did it the day before October, but it doesn't make a difference.
We go all out for themes. I wore a pink shirt, pink sports bra, pink shorts, pink tights, and a pink Snuggie as a cape. Our school gave out t-shirts to the first 300 people, but I didn't want to wear mine at the game. A few students were also given pink hard hats to wear.

We may have the best student section ever, no matter what Scotty McCreery says.

10.1.11
Well this started out as a pretty terrible Saturday. I got to wake up super early and travel all the way to Athens Drive High School just to take my SAT. Afterwards I went to the NC State Game with my dad, brother, and neighbor. NC State lost, but it made me even more excited to hurry up and go to college. We went to the Well's house after the game to watch some more college football which Texas won big!

10.2.11
I didn't do very much today except watch football. The Texans beat the Steelers by the way. I also touched up some spots on our amazing corn hole boards.

10.3.11
I wore a very bright orange shirt today. Everyone, and I mean everyone, commented on how it was blinding them. It was freezing out today and I was miserable, but it meant my hair stayed straight. I can't wait to chop it all off.

10.4.11
I got Scotty's new CD today, and I got George Strait's. I also went to a Light the Night Walk info session. It's so weird not working on a Tuesday night.
Speaking of Scotty McCreery, I wrote an angry letter to the local news station that is hosting the student section contest:

Hi,
My name is Clare Purvis, and I am a senior at Panther Creek High School. It has been brought to the Catamount Chaos' attention that Garner High School's Scotty McCreery has tweeted to his 300,000+ followers to vote for Garner's Blue Crew for the student section showdown. This seems extremely unfair considering a majority of those followers do not live in our area. If you do not live in our area, you will not know the traditions and information about all the other schools competing. I would greatly appreciate if you could get back to me on how the playing field could be leveled out to give the other five schools an equal opportunity.

Thank You,
Clare Purvis

10.5.11

I had a meeting with my counselor, and I asked her a million questions about college applications. After school, I went to the soccer game which we unfortunately lost, but the weather was beautiful and the trees have begun changing colors.

10.6.11

I worked today, but didn't make many tips. I spent most of the night reading 1984, which I actually like a lot.

10.7.11
TGIF! Early release, Chick Fil A, and football. I love Fridays! We got out of school and went to our second to last Chick Fil A Friday. On the way home I had a "who can go slower" race with Sydney. I won! Then I went to the brand new TJ Maxx and Target with my mom. They were so nice. Afterwards, I drove an hour away with Sydney and Manthan to a football game at Lee County which we won.
The classic early release middle schooler swarm at Chick Fil A.

Decorated the truck for our long drive!

10.8.11
I had lacrosse in the morning. I had a lot of fun playing again, but my cleats gave me the worst blisters ever! Then I watched the first quarter of Texas' brutal loss to Oklahoma. Then I wen to work. I am a huge fan of Saturday shifts; the tips are amazing! Kayla picked me up after work and we went to Salsa Fresh and a movie for Carly's birthday.
My blisters!

10.9.11
I had spent the night at Kayla's house. When we woke up her cats were begging for attention. These cats don't act like cats. They're more like dogs that purr; however, they can't meow. Then my dad, brother, and I got our pumpkins. Uneventful day.
